Gore Mountain: 02/20/2010
Spent a fairly leisurely and fun family day on the mountain today. Snow guns were still blasting the Rumor headwall all day. I'm hoping that one of these will earn me the cheeseburger Harvey's been promising. Actually, I'm more interested in the beer.
Cheesburger, please.
Beer with that.
Conditions were similar to yesterday. Snowmaking continued on Rumor and Lower Chatiemac, but the guns that had been blowing on upper Chati and Twister yesterday were silent today.
By late in the day, many of the trails that had held up well all day yesterday were showing some signs of wear today. As always, selectively skiing the edges and other favored locations produced the best turning surface.
Daniel had a lot of fun weaving through the trees alongside a number of trails, including Foxlair. Although the woods are mostly shut down, these side shots through the trees had nice snow and fun skiing. Daniel has already tried the Otter Slide glades, and I know he's ready for more challenging things.

ReplyDeleteJeff ... maybe I should have been clear. That BEER was for a pic from the catwalk or base of the headwall. Something that shows PROGRESS or evidence of the slide!
NO SOUP for YOU! :)

Yeah, I knew you'd have to dock my pay for those photos from the SB chair.
That photo of Daniel in the trees is a spot along the upper part of Foxlair, skier's right.
